Week #2 Fan Friday Winner Has Been Chosen!

Loki was, by far, the favorite Grant bairn in the responses this week. Although Loki has made an appearance in several of the CLAN GRANT novels, he is most recognized as an integral character in Love Letters from Largs. KeiraMontclair_LoveLettersFromLargs200

Some of the kind words that were shared about Loki were:

*a beautiful way of protecting others

*sense of humor

*always ready to help others, especially if they are less fortunate

*a survivor

*caring and compassionate

*loyal

*so “sneaky” as he is always in the right place at the right time

This week’s Fan of the Week is Cathy C. Congratulations on being randomly chosen this week! We look forward to learning more about you when you are featured as our Fan of the Week on Friday!

Not Just One, But Two Fans of the Week!

Congratulations to Misty L. & Nanette G. on being chosen as my very first “Fans of the Week!” They responded to Monday’s question, “What is your favorite Keira Montclair novel and why?” which entered them into a random drawing. Their names were chosen! With their notification came a brief Fan of the Week questionnaire for us to learn more about them as readers. So, here we go!

Misty L.

What is your favorite book of all time? If you could have dinner with any one romance novel character, who would it be and why? What is your favorite romance novel setting (could be time or place) and why? Who is your favorite Keira Montclair character and why?
Pride and Prejudice That’s a tough choice…all the good men are taken! 13th-19th Century. Who isn’t intrigued by the unknown? Alexander Grant. The Grant Chieftain represents many of the characteristics one should find, not only in love, but also in commonly good people. Strength, loyalty, and a an unwavering devotion to protecting those in need are a few of the qualities.

Nanette G.

What is your favorite book of all time? If you could have dinner with any one romance novel character, who would it be and why? What is your favorite romance novel setting (could be time or place) and why? Who is your favorite Keira Montclair character and why?
This is such a hard question for me!! I love so many! Here are two of my favorites; The Wolf and the Dove and Whitney, My Love two of my favorites.  My recent character would have to be Alex in your first Scottish series. I would love to be able to find out about his life and all the responsibility he carried on his shoulders. I would want to ask about his thoughts and feelings about his family and Maddie. I love Scottish stories involving knights and young ladies that need help! I loved Maddie because she was such a kind, sweet and unselfish lady!! How brave she was although she had been so physical and mentally abused. I enjoyed the fact that she was able to love Alex and his clan!! I enjoyed the interchange between her and Alex; both being anxious at times but finding trust and love!!

Thank you to all of the participants in the first “Fan of the Week.” We are looking forward to next week! Enjoy your weekend!

The 1st Fan of the Week Has Been Chosen!

DSCN0550[1]Well, the results are in! Congratulations to the randomly chosen response #12 in our first “Fan of the Week” fun!
Here are a few clues about our Week 1 Fan of the Week: Although stating that her decision was difficult, her favorite book is “A Fresh Start for Two.” This novel is the second in the Summerhill Series, a contemporary romance. “Although there were several personal experiences endured by the characters that I can relate to, there is one that stands out above all others. My husband is a combat veteran who suffered from the affects of our nation’s latest conflict, and Ms. Montclair wove truth into the novel in a way that offered comfort to me, a person living the experiences she writes about.”
Thank you to this reader, along with the rest of Week 1’s participants for such heartfelt, personal responses.
If this sounds like your response, check your email to see if you have received the winning notification! We look forward to featuring our very first Fan of the Week in two days-Fan Friday!

Lots of things to look forward to…

1. Lunch with my Celtic Hearts sisters

2. Barbara Freethy’s Keynote speech…love her!!!

3. Chats with Robyn Carr, Marie Force, Nora Roberts…what more could you ask for?

4. Indie book signing with Margaret Mallory, Eliza Knight, Kathryn LeVeque, Jennifer Bray-Weber, Merry Farmer, and more!

5. Jude Devereaux’s workshop on organizing your research.

6. Bella Andre and Barbara Freethy’s workshop on indie publishing. Attended last year and it was GREAT!!!

7. Julia Quinn and Nalini Singh as speakers

8. Joanna Bourne and Grace Burrowes tell how to perk up your prose.

9. And one of my favorite authors (I know…one of many) presents a workshop on secondary characters-Kristan Higgins.

I hope I am able to attend all my first choices. So much to learn, so much to do.

New friends, new skills, new strategies.

FUN!!!!

Summertime!

So I have lots of exciting things happening this summer, so don’t be upset if I disappear for a couple of days here and there. Here’s my list.

1. Release of THE BRIGHTEST STAR IN THE HIGHLANDS, Jennie’s story, one that I absolutely loved writing. Why? Because it is so much about the love of the clan and family. It’s back with the Grants, and the bonds between many of the family members are truly tested-Maddie and Alex, Jennie and Alex, Loki and Jennie. I hope to bring you many smiles of satisfaction by the time you reach the end of the story. You’ll have it before July 15th.

2. Next, I’ll start Avelina’s story, and it has to be a BIG one. It’s the end of the series! I’ll probably cry all the while I write it. I shed a few tears writing Jennie’s story. Let me know if you do…

3. The next series will be the children of the Grants and Ramsays. There are so many bairns that I decided they deserve their own series. The top choices amongst readers so far in my poll? Torrian, Lily, Loki, and Ashlyn. Not sure what order I’m going in yet…you’ll have to be surprised.

4. I’m taking a trip to Conesus Lake in the Finger Lakes for research for my Summerhill Series. I plan to visit some wineries there and do a book-signing. Fun, Fun, FUN!

5. I’m off to the RWA conference in New York City in mid-July. I love conferences. I learn so much, get great ideas, and meet wondeful new friends. All of this is great for my writing.

I also have my new assistant starting with me this week. So excited about that. It should give me MORE writing time.

Hope you have some relaxation planned for your summer.

Have a great one!

Keira
